TAILOR-MADE TOURS

We have a number of regular tours, but we can design either an individual tour or a complete program for your stay in Yaeyama or for the rest of Okinawa.   Contact us and let us know your interests, what you would like to do, what you need and if you have any special requirements.

This service can start from the very beginning of your stay, where we can arrange for you to be met by taxi from the airport and taken to your hotel, and if required you can be met at the airport by an English speaking guide. We can also arrange for an  English speaking guide to accompany you on any or all of the trips you book with us.

For example, we can tailor island hopping trips around the Yaeyama islands, experience water buffalo cart sightseeing, visiting Kabira bay, glass-bottom boat cruising and spending time on star-shaped sand beach. We can also arrange sunset cruising or visiting the local craft museum and buildings of historical importance on Ishigaki.

In terms of special interests, we can arrange star gazing tours, discovering local pottery and making of shiisa (the lion dog figures which guard the local houses), discovering local weaving, learning to play the sanshin (the local musical instrument),  bird spotting, discovering the unique plant life on the Yaeyama islands, or enjoying a tour of a local distillery making awamori, the local sake- like rice based liquor.

Activities which we can cater for include Yoga, Boat cruising, Trekking, Canoeing, Snorkeling, Diving, Fishing and Golf.

We can also arrange karate themed tours in nearby Okinawa, visiting a unique karate museum, visiting key sites of historical importance in the development of karate and meeting the karate master of a local dojo and watching a practice session. The tour in Okinawa can be extended and tailored so that if desired you can also visit historical places from the Ryukyu kingdom, such as  Shuri castle,  the royal gardens (including the house where the karate master and `head of royal security`resided).

There are also a number of festivals on the islands, for example at harvest time, at the beginning of spring etc, and we can advise you on when and where these are to be held.
